Amazon introduced new pricing options for Prime Video, including the Prime Video Ultra plan, which will replace the ad-free package with a higher price. The changes will take effect on April 10, 2026, affecting only U.S. subscribers for now.
Changes in the new Prime Video plan are being discussed.
The increase in the fee for ad-free content viewing will be raised from $2.99 to $4.99 per month, citing investment in technology and original content as reasons for the hike, aligning with other streaming platforms.

The new Prime Video Ultra includes additional features along with the price hike.
Some of the key news items include:
- Streaming in 4K/UHD resolution
- Support is available for up to five concurrent transmissions.
- Up to 100 downloads are possible for offline viewing.
- Support for Dolby Atmos for enhanced audio experience.
The current ad-free plan offers three simultaneous streams and up to 25 downloads. The updated ad-supported plan will now allow four simultaneous screens and 50 offline downloads.
Amazon warns that advertisements could still be present during live broadcasts, sports events, or third-party channels on the Ultra plan.
The new plan in the United States will offer an annual option priced at $45.99, providing cost savings compared to monthly payments.
Brazil’s situation is expected to remain the same with no anticipated changes.
The new Prime Video Ultra plan will only be available in the United States at first. In Brazil, a no-ads option was introduced in April 2025, with an extra charge of R$ 10 to eliminate ads from the platform.
Amazon has not yet disclosed any price adjustments or the launch of the new Ultra plan in Brazil.
