RØDE removes receiver by enabling microphones to connect directly to iPhone using Bluetooth.

RØDE has introduced a new firmware update that enables Wireless GO (Gen 3) and Wireless PRO models to directly connect to iOS devices through Bluetooth. This feature eliminates the need for a physical receiver, making mobile recordings simpler.

The function, first introduced in Wireless Micro, is now available in the brand’s high-end range via the complimentary RØDE Capture app. This allows users to connect the transmitters directly to an iPhone and capture high-quality audio without needing extra equipment.

Creators can still select between two recording modes in the app after the update. In “merged” mode, the audio from both transmitters is blended into a stereo track ready for publishing. In “split” mode, each transmitter records on its own channel for easier editing. The app also enables direct gain adjustment on the interface to ensure balanced levels during recording.

The latest Wireless GO model continues the small and easily transportable design that made the line famous. It operates on 2.4 GHz Series IV digital transmission and works with devices from the same generation. Key features include 32-bit float internal recording, GainAssist technology for automatic level control, and 32 GB of internal storage for recording audio directly on the transmitters.

The model provides a more streamlined setup for iPhone recorders with Direct Connect, removing the need for external cables and receivers. It is also available in various color choices.

Wireless PRO

Designed for professional use, the Wireless PRO enhances its line of features by adding timecode synchronization and a range of up to 260 meters in direct line of sight. Just like the Wireless GO (Generation 3), it utilizes Series IV digital transmission and is interoperable with the RØDE ecosystem, including the RØDECaster Pro II, RØDECaster Duo, and RØDECaster Video.
